- Only use cookware with a base suitable for induction cooking. Look for the induction symbol on the packaging or on the bottom of the pan.
- You can check whether your cookware is suitable by carrying out a magnet test. Move a magnet towards the base of the pan. If it is attracted, the pan is suitable for induction.
- If you do not have a magnet:
1. Put some water in the pan you want to check.
2. Power on the cooktop.
3. If "Ṵ" does not flash in the display and the water is heating, the pan is suitable. - Cookware made by the following materials is not suitable: pure stainless steel, aluminium or copper without a magnetic base, glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic, and earthenware.
Note:
- Do not use cookware with jagged edges or a curved base.
- Make sure that the base of your pan is smooth, sits flat against the glass, and is the same size as the cooking zone. Always centre your pan on the cooking zone.
As an induction hob operates slightly differently to a traditional ceramic hob, the customer may need to make some adjustments to the cooking times and temperatures to achieve the desired results. Pan contents heat more quickly with an induction hob. To reduce the cooking time, advise the customer to turn the power control to the max position and after a short time set the power control to the required position.
The induction hob generates short-range magnetic fields. If any user or person in close proximity has a pacemaker or other active implants, advise them to consult a doctor before use, concerning any possible incompatibility to prevent any risk to health.
- The controls respond to touch, so you don’t need to apply any pressure.
- Use the ball of your finger, not its tip.
- You will hear a beep each time a touch is registered.
- Make sure the controls are always clean, dry, and that there are no objects (e.g. a utensil or a cloth) covering them. Even a thin film of water may make the controls difficult to operate.
- You can lock the controls to prevent unintended use (for example children accidentally turning the cooking zones on).
- When the controls are locked, all the controls except the ON/OFF key are disabled.

Everyday soiling on glass (fingerprints, marks, stains left by food or non-sugary spillovers on the glass)
- Switch the power to the cooktop off.
- Apply a cooktop cleaner while the glass is still warm (but not hot!)
- Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Switch the power to the cooktop back on.
Boil overs, melts, and hot sugary spills on the glass
- Immediately remove the saucepan or pot and wipe the surface with some paper towel being careful not to scold your hand with any very hot spill, and then wipe over with a cloth rinsed in warm soapy water to assist in removing the spill. Repeat until all residue is removed before continuing to use the cooking zone.
Spillovers on the touch controls
- Switch the power to the cooktop off.
- Soak up the spill.
- Wipe the touch control area with a clean damp sponge or cloth.

Induction hobs are quicker and more controllable than gas. The hob works by using a magnetic field to heat the pan rather than through the ceramic surface of the hob. The hob is extremely efficient as it heats pans to a high temperature very quickly, but offers greater safety as only the pan is heated and the ceramic induction cooktop (its not a plate) does not have an element in it and therefore is quick to cool down.
